dining out: da falafel king

We’re both huge falafel fans, so when we heard amazing things about Da Falafel King in Waikiki, we HAD to try it. As soon as humanly possible. So we headed over for lunch during my 30th birthday staycation at the Sheraton.

Da Falafel King is located at the Waikiki Trade Center on Kuhio. It’s just a little stand/cart on the street level, and it doesn’t even really have a sign…but don’t be fooled by its size or unassuming appearance. This place churns out some of the most amazing falafel we’ve ever had. Read more

The night of my fantastic birthday staycation in Waikiki, I was craving some Italian appetizers and possibly a pizza, and didn’t feel like driving or cabbing it anywhere. So we headed over to Il Lupino Trattoria and Wine Bar in the Royal Hawaiian Center, just next door…which had the added bonus of outdoor seating under the beautiful palms of the Royal Hawaiian courtyard.
